Accreditation Status

The Montessori Teacher Education Institute of Atlanta is affiliated with American Montessori Society and accredited by MACTE (Montessori Accreditation Council for Teacher Education). You can learn more about the programs by clicking the links below! 

• MACTE: MACTE is the international standard setting and accrediting body for Montessori teacher education. MACTE was granted initial recognition by the U.S. Department of Education in 1995*. The Montessori Teacher Education Institute of Atlanta holds accredited status for it’s Early Childhood, Infant Toddler , Elementary I and Elementary I-II Montessori Teacher Education certification course levels from the Montessori Accreditation Council for Teacher Education (MACTE).

• American Montessori Society: The American Montessori Society (AMS) is the foremost advocate for quality Montessori education, an innovative, child-centered approach to learning. AMS sets the high professional standards that inform Montessori education as practiced in AMS-accredited schools and taught in AMS-affiliated teacher education programs**.
