The entrance requirements for enrollment in the Early Childhood and Infant & Toddler Montessori Programs are a minimum of a four year Bachelor’s degree and availability to fulfill a 540 hour practicum concurrent with the academic phase.  For certain candidates, the Institute will consider adult learners with an Associate's degree or High School Diploma that show strong potential.

What happens if I have do not have a Bachelor's degree?

The good news is that you can still attend training and become a teacher. However, your certificate will be different! It will have an different title- you will receive a Montessori Associate Early Childhood Credential or Montessori Associate Infant/Toddler Credential.

We require that all applicants who do not have a Bachelor’s degree or its equivalent from an U.S. college or university and who plan on attending any Institute programs submit a signed statement verifying an understanding that certain locations or schools may not accept an Associate credential as the qualification for full teaching responsibility.  We suggest that these individuals complete their Bachelor’s degrees within seven years of receiving the credential in order to receive a full Early Childhood or Infant/Toddler Credential.
